Lauren's Legacy was inspired by a beautiful child named Lauren Brown, who was just 5 weeks shy of her 4th birthday when she was diagnosed with NEUROBLASTOMA. She bravely battled this horrible disease for 10 months, but sadly, Lauren became an Angel on December 9, 2004.
SOME SOBERING FACTS ABOUT THIS VICIOUS CANCER
*In the United States, about 600 children are diagnosed with Neuroblastoma each year
*Every 16 hours a child with Neuroblastoma dies
*There is no known cure for relapsed Neuroblastoma
*In nearly 70% of children first diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, the disease has already metastasized to other parts of the body
*Children over 2 years of age have less than a 30% chance of survival if Neuroblastoma has spread by the time of diagnosis
